ENSEMBLES

  • Little Bows and Strings - Kids 12yrs and under

    JUNIOR CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Preliminary - Grade 2+ or equivalent.

    Reading all notes in the first position, recognising slurs, bowings, time signatures and accidentals, plus some knowledge of basic one-octave scales are strongly recommended before joining this ensemble.

  • Prelude Cellists - Adults/Teens

    BEGINNER CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Preliminary - Grade 2 or equivalent.

    Reading notes in the first position, recognising slurs, bowings, time signatures and accidentals, plus some knowledge of basic one -octave scales are strongly recommended before joining the Beginner Ensemble.

    Rehearsing on Saturdays 4 - 5pm

  • Piatti Cello Ensemble - Adults/Teens

    INTERMEDIATE CELLO ENSEMBLE

    Approximate playing level: AMEB Cello Grade 3 - 6+ or equivalent.

    Cellists should be comfortable with the standard 1 and 2 octave scales, recognise positions up to 4th position (and beyond), can play slurs and extensions, and recognise key signatures with up to 3 flats and sharps. Some occasional tenor clef reading for the more advanced cellists.
