The Melbourne Community Cellists will be offering

Have you always dreamed of learning the cello but never knew where to start? These welcoming group classes are designed especially for adult beginners, with no prior experience needed!

In a small, friendly group of just five students, you will learn the foundations of cello playing in a supportive and relaxed environment. Meeting once a week during term time, over the course of a year, you will gradually build your technique, confidence and knowledge of playing the cello, at a comfortable pace.

Throughout the year-long course you will be introduced to important and fundamental technical skills on the cello. You will play simple pieces, learn to read music and perform in your very first class concert at the end of the year!

You will have the option to continue on with our ‘continuing cello classes’ in the following year where you will develop a deeper level of learning and understanding of the cello, involving being introduced to higher level skills and techniques.

After a year of learning, and while continuing on with your weekly cello lessons you may also wish to join the Melbourne Community Cellists Beginner Ensemble, the ‘Prelude’ Cello Ensemble. This cello ensemble meets weekly and is a wonderful way to make music with others and become a part of a wider cello community.
